Literacy Narrative Annotations

Blake Beverage –

Here is an understanding annotation, as I understand the narrative track that Blake is aiming for, as he is describing his rise to success in becoming a better student.

This is a text to text annotation, as I connect it to Williams texts and his idea of “Connecting to students parents”.

Hannah D –

This is a connection to Alexanders idea of a faulty narrative, but instead, the writer Hannah D goes against it, and shows that she is not oblivious to the idea that others may not enjoy her work, despite what she may think.

This is an understanding annotation, as I recognize that Hannah’s story is aiming for the hard work narrative type.

Sam Michaud –

Here, I recognize that Miss Foster acts as a literacy sponsor by pushing and helping Sam with his writing, which helps spark his love for it.

This is an understanding annotation to how the story that Sam writes progresses, and how readers might originally think it is a child prodigy story, but progresses differently upon further reading.

Kayla Farrell –

Text to text annotation, as it relates to Sams work on how he disliked anything that wasn’t his own creative work.

Understanding annotation, as Mr. Stritch acts as a literacy sponsor who works in a negative way to suppress and regulate Kaylas literacy relationship.
